Transylvania Garlic Bread

Toasty garlic bread mummified in melted strips of creamy cheese puts a spooky spin on this ancient staple.

10 cloves garlic
2 Tbsp olive oil
6 Tbsp butter, softened
3 Tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 baguette
6 string cheese sticks
16 black olive slices


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  • Place the garlic cloves on a sheet of aluminum foil, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap it up to ensure the cloves are completely enclosed. Place it on a baking tray and let it roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
  • While the garlic is roasting, cut the baguette in 3rds and each 3rd in half to get 6 mummies!
  • When the garlic is done roasting, transfer the cloves into a bowl and mash them until smooth. Add in the softened butter, parmesan, and salt and pepper. Combine and spread onto each slice of bread.
  • Thinly peel apart the string cheeses and layer the strands on top of the bread to look like mummies. Place two black olive slices on each bread to make the eyes. Transfer the mummies back to the baking sheet and let the bread toast and cheese melt in the oven for about 10 minutes.
