Crispy Chicken Tacos with Cilantro Lime Cream

Here’s a recipe to add to your Taco Tuesday repertoire! These cheesy ground chicken tacos with cilantro lime cream have just the right amount of crunch from the tortilla shells, kick from Spice World Global Flavors™ Sizzlin’ Fire Roasted Fajita Cooking & Seasoning Blend, and zest from fresh lime juice. Ingredients

  • Tacos
    • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
    • 1 lb ground chicken
    • 1 yellow onion, chopped
    • 3 Tbsp Spice World Global Flavors™ Sizzlin’ Fire Roasted Fajita Cooking & Seasoning Blend
    • 3 Tbsp Spice World Ready-to-Use Minced Garlic
    • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
    • ½ tsp dried oregano
    • Salt, to taste
    • ¾ cup water
    • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
    • 12 hard shell tacos
    • 2 cups Mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • Cilantro Lime Cream
    • 3/4 cup sour cream
    • 2 Tbsp Spice World Global Flavors™ Sizzlin’ Fire Roasted Fajita Cooking & Seasoning Blend
    • ½ cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
    • ¼ cup pickled jalapeños, chopped
    • 1/3 cup lime juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over high heat. When the pan is heated, add the ground chicken and chopped onion. Break up the chicken as it cooks and sauté until meat is browned.
  • Add Spice World Global Flavors™ Sizzlin’ Fire Roasted Fajita, Spice World Ready-to-Use Minced Garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, salt, and water. Stir until combined, reduce the heat to medium, and let simmer until the sauce has slightly thickened, approximately 10 minutes. Once the sauce is reduced, remove from heat and stir in the freshly chopped cilantro.
