Legacy of Flavor

When was Spice World founded?

The company was founded in 1949 as “A&A Garlic Company,” named after Andy “Pops” Caneza and his wife, Ann. That same family passion continues today, with multiple generations of Canezas leading Spice World.

The company’s name changed to Spice World when we moved our headquarters to Orlando, Florida. It happened in a meeting over breakfast.
Andy “Pops” Caneza, our founder, was passionate about providing his customers with the very best garlic. His mission was to bring everyone a world full of flavor year-round. Since those early days, quality, consistency, and flavor have been our North Star, and our founder’s enthusiasm still guides us every day in all we do.

Since 1949, Spice World has grown from a small garlic company into a trusted brand for fresh, convenient, and flavorful ingredients. Today, we continue to innovate with ready-to-use garlic, ginger, and onion products while staying true to our roots in quality and flavor.

Commitment to Quality

Are your products inspected?

Spice World has a dedicated quality assurance team to ensure all our products deliver on our high standards for safety and quality and in compliance with our sourcing policy.

Our mission is to provide consumers with the highest quality fresh garlic year-round. While California is our largest growing region, we also work with farmers from a variety of countries in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia to augment California-grown garlic as it alone is not enough to fully meet the annual demand of U.S. consumers.

Currently, no products produced in Spice World facilities contain allergens or sensitive ingredients, such as gluten and nuts. All ingredients are declared on the label to comply with regulations, including the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA).

While we do sell Pesto, which contains pine nuts, this product is not produced in our facilities. In addition, the Pesto label has an allergen statement.

Our Spice World facilities have allergen, sanitation, and hygiene programs in place. Our employees follow good manufacturing practices and are trained in the importance of correct labeling and the necessity of performing thorough equipment cleanup and following proper changeover procedures to minimize the possibility of cross-contact between ingredients.

We encourage you to read the ingredient statement on your package at the time of purchase to ensure you obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information.
