Roasted Balsamic Shallots

Roasted shallots provide a mellow, sweet taste which is complemented by the balsamic vinegar. This is the perfect side when you’re thinking vegetables, but elevated.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb peeled and halved Spice World Shallots
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Melt butter in a large oven-safe sauté pan over medium-heat. Add shallots and sugar, and toss to coat.
  3. Cook until the shallots begin to brown.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar to the pan and toss. Transfer the pan to the oven and roast the shallots until tender and caramelized, 20–30 minutes.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
