1 pound Spice World whole shallots, peeled and halved
3 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp salt, to taste
1 tsp pepper

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Melt butter in a large oven-safe sauté pan over medium heat. Add shallots and sugar, and toss to coat. Cook until the shallots begin to brown.
Add balsamic vinegar to the pan and toss. Transfer the pan to the oven and roast the shallots until tender and caramelized, 20–30 minutes.
