Grilling Hacks for All Your Summer Cookouts

Summer cookouts are the perfect time for reconnecting with friends and family, as well as nature. As the weather warms up, why not take your culinary skills to the next level too? The casual vibe of cookouts means more flexible table manners, hand-held foods, and, of course, a relaxing dining experience. Not to mention the cleaning process is made easy when dining outside! With a fresh tablecloth and some disposable plates and utensils, hosts won’t have to worry about dirty dishes or cleaning the house afterward. Without having to worry about continuous cleaning throughout your gathering, hosting larger crowds is so much easier. Regular meals and gatherings just feel more special when they’re taken outdoors, so here are a few easy grilling hacks to take your cookout to the next level.

Simple Grilling Hacks

It’s finally time for grilling and BBQ! Before you plan your next summer cookout, consider some of these fired-up grill tips and tricks.

  • Cleaning the Grill with a Cut Onion – the acidity of an onion is able to cut right through any residual grease and grime left on the grill from previous seasons. Just heat your grill on high, then rub the cut side of an onion over the grates.
  • Checking the Propane Tank with Hot Water – determining how much gas is left in a propane tank can be difficult, but by pouring warm water on the tank, you are able to tell much easier. Where the tank is empty it will feel warm, while where it is full it will feel cool. The more you know!
  • Soak Your Skewers – to keep your wooden skewers from getting scorched on the grill, try submerging them in water for an hour or two before using them.
  • Reusable Squeezable Bottles – having a few reusable bottles on hand when grilling can be crucial. Filling them up with condiments, marinades, or glazes can add a zing of flavor to your food and get everyone involved in the grilling fun!
  • Squeezable Food Products – products like Spice World Squeezable Minced Garlic or Spice World Squeezable Easy Onion are easily portable and make adding flavor to your food while grilling quicker, more efficient, and all-around easier. Forget the chopping and the tears!

Advantages of Cooking on the Grill

Did you know grilling food comes with a ton of advantages? Mostly targeted at health benefits, grilling food doesn’t involve excess fat, and as the meats are cooked, the fat will drip through the grates, leaving the meat healthier than other methods. Also, grilling vegetables allows for more minerals and vitamins to be preserved compared to cooking them on the stove or in an oven. Maybe the best part of grilling is how it encourages bonding and connecting with the natural world and those around you. Here are a few of our favorite grilling recipes:
